Early life

Ashton was born on February 19, 1996 in Oak Ridge, North Carolina, and raised in the city of Greensboro where her parents exposed them to country music and Slipknot. She recalls becoming interested in music, specifically rap music, when she listened to "Bucky Done Gun" and "Arular" by M.I.A on her iPod Nano at the age of 11, claiming that it "blew [their] little brain away". As a teenager, her family moved to Estonia for her father's studies, spending a year there before relocating again to Riga, Latvia.

After taking place in Lativia, Ashnikko began posting songs on her soundcloud, the first being "Cake Face" released in 2012. In July 2013 she met a manager from Steez Media, a record label in Lativia who was looking for young artists. Then, in August 2013, Ashnikko participated in the Ballistic Trail compilation, where her first three songs were released on Spotify, "Mermaid Girl", "Mellow" and "Emerald Eyes". Today all the songs are private and have been removed from all of Ashnikko's official platforms.

When she turned 18, Ashnikko moved to London, where she got a record deal with OddChild. She lives there to this day.
