"Tough" is an unreleased song by Ashnikko. It was recorded during the sessions for her debut studio album, WEEDKILLER, however, it was later scrapped probably because it does not fit the theme of the album.
The full song was leaked in December 2022.
Background[]
This and "Wild" were one of several songs written and recorded by Ashnikko before deciding on the sound and aesthetic of her debut album. In June 2021, Ashnikko stated about some of her newly written songs[1]:

The song was leaked due to a Dropbox hack of a box used by Ashnikko that contained unreleased songs, such as "Wild" and "Creepy", and demos.
Theme[]
"Tough" is about a toxic love relationship between two people. The narrator feels incomplete without her partner, she claims to hate him and love him at the same time, and so she wants to return to the relationship, even though she knows that her relationship is toxic and harmful. She tries to resist the urge to get back together, with all the reasons why the breakup happened disappearing after a conversation between the two.
